First of many firsts

It has been a while since I have posted, and I know I promised last time to keep up with this, but life simply was moving too fast. We have had a lot of "firsts" in the last few months.  In March, our oldest had his first trip to the lake.  He was a little fearful at first, but quickly fell in-love with zipping around the lake.  I wish I could post photos of this because he was smiling ear to ear the whole time and was eager to jump in. Rest assured, as soon as I am legally allowed to share photos with their faces, I will.  In late March, we also had our first family photo taken.  It turned out amazing.  I also can't wait to share this photo!

April typically brings showers, or at least that how the rhyme goes. For us April brought  our first triple digit day - which naturally resulted in playing in the pool.  It is always an exciting experience watching the boys experience something for the first time.  This was no exception.  I anticipated laughs, giggles, smiles, and splashes.  Instead, I got shivers, trepidation, and some fear.  After filling the kiddie pool with several pots of near boiling water to warm it up, we began to get some splashes and smiles.  It might have been a little early in the season to start using the pool since the hose water was still quite cold.  






With April also came Easter.  I do not know if this was the first time our oldest experienced Easter, but it was certainly the first for our youngest and for us as a family.  We began Easter morning off with attending a not-quite-sunrise, sunrise service.  Our sunrise service began well after the sun had risen - lol. =)  The boys stayed with us during the service instead of going to the nurseries.  They did exceptionally well and the oldest would clap and say "YAY!" after every song.  It was precious and reminded me how these two are wonderful gifts from God.  After church we did Easter baskets with both boys and had an egg hunt with the oldest.  He would pick up the eggs right away, but would set them back down.  It took a few tries for him to get the hang of putting them in the basket.  We concluded the day by having Easter dinner at grandma's where the boys had another round of Easter baskets and all kinds of new toys and people to play with.  


Unfortunately April ended with a couple of very sick kiddos and few hospital stays that brought us into May.


As May progressed, our oldest got his first kiss from a little girl at day care and our littlest one found himself standing on his own, then taking a few steps on his own.  He doesn't have the confidence to walk more than 3 - 5 steps yet, but he has determination like no other!  He will stand, walk, and fall over and over and over and over until he reaches his destination.  I expect it is only a matter of days before he takes off at full speed!
